21 October 2006 the WorldDrum started her journey around the world in Oslo.

The journey of this shamans drum is based on a vision of Kyrre Gram "White Cougar" Franck , in which the Earth asks us  to no longer fight, exploit and destroy her, but to acknowledge and respect her as our living Mother, from whom we and all other life again and again are created.

it is the goal of the WorldDrum to carry out this message all over the world and to make it stronger. The WorldDrum was made by the Sami shaman Birger Mikkelsen, whereas the project is coördinated from Norway by Morten Wolf Storeide. The WorldDrum is in The Netherlands now untill the end of October 2010 and will also be here from January 10th until the end of January 2011. In the meantime she will travel to New-Zealand, Australia and Hawaï.

The WorldDrum travelling around the world these days reminds me of the Olympic Fire, which -preceeding the Olympic Games- travels all over the world to call our athletes to participate in the Games. 

Whereas Fire asks us to connect by going out and 'speak the same language', the WorldDrum asks us to go in and to get quiet. To experience inside ourselves that we are already connected because we are physically and spiritually created from the same source. From that one source, that óne heart. That heart that beats in Mother Earth and in you and me.

We are One, created from One Love, One Heart.

The WorldDrum is to me thé symbol for us being óne with all there is, material and immaterial.  

For me it fits: my heart grows warm every time I connect with it .....

Now the WorldDrum is in the Netherlands she will travel around our country to tell her story in many ceremonies. For the itinerary see the menu-item Agenda. Before she came to us she was guest of honour at the Sami Shamanic Festival of Isogaisa. To us it was so very special that she travelled to her birthground before coming to our country that we flew to Bardufoss to attend the Festival and collect the WorldDrum over there.
